Step 1 Complete, on way to Step 2

Alright, just a quick update here. I have great news, we have made great headway into the Dave Ramsey Total Money Makeover.

First: We now have $1000 in the bank! I'm just so excited to have money ready to use in case of emergency. It's ironic, as for years my wife was saying we need to have money in the bank. Well with listening to the Dave's Total Money Makeover (free from the library), I realized how right she was, and stashed money away. She was a bit annoyed it took a book to get me to this stage, but nonetheless, here we are.

Second: College loan is now paid off! We paid the approximate $1400, and now no longer have any higher education costs.

Name Interest Opening Current Difference
Car 3.99% $10,026.00 $9,819.45 $206.55
USBank 15.25% $7,876.00 $7,789.50 $86.50
Onpoint 6.99% $6,411.00 $6,233.84 $177.16
GE Money 26.99% $3,410.00 $3,180.00 $230.00
College loan 2.20% $1,325.00 $0.00 $1,325.00
Total $29100

So, we have paid off over $2000 this month, are now down to $27,022.

I was just about to increase the payments on GE Money, however...

Third: Realizing we are going to Japan later this year in December, so we need to start stacking up cash, so we don't have to use the credit card. Well, that is assuming Japan is safe, which I am praying it will be. So, we now need to save as much as possible for the next 4 months, to get ready to have $3000 in the bank... I'm adding that to my snowball now.

Bye for now!
